Head of Middle Years: Verónica Saenz

As Head of Middle Years, I warmly welcome you to our website.

In these pivotal years at St. George's College, I have witnessed firsthand the remarkable journey our students embark upon as they transition to our Villa campus, marking their move to the larger school setting. It's a time filled with wonderful discoveries. They not only encounter new learning experiences that progressively increase in complexity, forming a solid foundation for success in their high school years and beyond, but also gain essential tools and competencies to navigate society and life effectively.

Our students engage with the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) up to Grade 5, a period that bridges their Lower School experience. Here, they predominantly learn under the guidance of two teachers—one for courses in Spanish and another for courses in English. Starting from Grade 6, as their brain structure evolves, they transition to the International Middle Years Curriculum (IMYC), continuing with subject specialists until Grade 9. This stage emphasizes autonomy and personal development even further.

The education our students receive is comprehensive. Beyond core subjects, they have regular music and art classes within the school hours, supplemented by co-curricular workshops on Tuesdays and Thursdays. These workshops allow them to explore their interests in artistic and athletic disciplines. We also offer more academically oriented workshops such as Model United Nations (MUN) and debate. Our school is consistently a place of growth and learning, aiming to develop virtues and strengthen character to tackle any challenges they may encounter. Thank you for visiting our website, and I look forward to welcoming you to our dynamic learning community. Warm regards,

Head of Upper School: Luis Sifuentes

Welcome to the final stage of our students' school journey: Upper School, which offers advanced and comprehensive education in all subjects for students from Grade 9 to 11. This phase prepares them for university and life beyond by not only offering a variety of subjects and extracurricular activities that enrich their educational experience but also by expanding their cultural horizons through international experiences such as exchanges and workshop programs like those offered by Round Square, ISCA, Coded, Claremont, LAHC, MUN, and other debate tournaments abroad. Each year, we see an increasing number of students participating in these activities.

Furthermore, the fact that all our students follow the programs offered by the IB for certification has led to a growing number of candidates and diplomas obtained.

We are confident that the time spent in Upper School will be a period of learning, significant skill development, and personal growth for our students.
